The only thing that is realistic about war thunder is the vehicles performance. What happens IRL means nothing for this game. IRL airfields arent always only 5-10km behind the front lines and only 20km from each other. IRL tanks dont fight each other at an average of 500 meters or less. I see no problem with giving at least low aircraft a reason not to try and camp the enemy ground spawns. No matter which direction air units fly, they have a great clue which only quadrant all of the enemy ground units are. Players on the ground shouldn't have to watch their own six for enemy air attacks. Ground-pounding is best done after establishing air superiority. IRL, pilots aren't in a hurry to fly back behind enemy lines unless ordered.
